Support to small businesses as key of economic growth

Association of Business Women in Serbia traditionally awarded the „Success Flower“ awards to the best women entrepreneurs in Serbia, for the 9th time. In the category “the most European women company” award was granted to Gordana Djurdjevic, director and co-owner of “Slovo” Ltd. from Belgrade. In its 15 years of existence company “Slovo” has become the biggest manufacturer of enameling inscriptions in the region.

Commenting the adoption of the reform law for TV N1, Gordana Djurdjevic highlighted that the rules are not the same for big and small systems. She said that the fact that small enterprises in Serbia employ more than 60% of employers shouldn’t be forgotten.

She expects the Serbian Government to provide help to small enterprises for their survival and business, in accordance with European strategy to support of this sector. She also said that her company, despite of being small (22 employees), exports 30% of its annual sales to Switzerland.

“Innovation, technological improvement, visibility of the company, attendance to International Fairs, web sites and networking in associations such is ABW Serbia are prerequisites for business success. This is exactly what Serbian enterprises are missing” said Mrs. Djurdjevic.
