Inspiring Women Entrepreneurship in Serbia

Inspiring Women Entrepreneurship in Serbia

July 2014 – March 2015

The Association of Business Women in Serbia (ABW) in cooperation and with the support of the CIPE – Center for International Private Enterprise will implement the project ”Inspiring Women Entrepreneurship in Serbia”. The project will be implemented in 5 cities in Serbia (Belgrade, Zajecar, Cacak, Valjevo and Subotica) with the support of the local association of business women.

The aim of the project is to strengthen the leadership and entrepreneurial capacity of young women in Serbia through a formal mentoring program which will have special emphasis on:

  • Spread awareness about entrepreneurship as a career option for women
  • Networking of women entrepreneurs in Serbia
  • Promotion of young women entrepreneurs and their businesses
  • Acknowledgement of their work
  • Inspiration and motivation for other potential women entrepreneurs to become independent professionally and to be leaders in their community

This programme represents a continuation of successfully implemented mentoring programmes of ABW Serbia – work between mentors, experienced women entrepreneurs with beginners in entrepreneurship.

The most successful mentoring pair will be awarded with special recognition within the annual “Success Flower” awards, which is being granted for the past 8 years by the ABW Serbia.

This project brings one more novelty – project activities will include female students which want to learn more about entrepreneurship, connect with experienced women entrepreneurs and learn from them.

Project activities are: One-on-one and group mentoring, training about different aspects of entrepreneurship, networking and promotion.

“This project is supported by a Grant from the Centre for International Private Enterprise in Washington, D.C.”
