6th year in a row, Association of Business Women in Serbia – in cooperation with partner organizations, ABWs from all around Serbia and Belgrade and project partners – implemented the international „Girls’ Day in ICT“.
Goal of all activities on this day is to empower girls to leave stereotypes aside when choosing their future professions and they have their own interests and talents as their guide.
Girls from 18 cities in Serbia, from more than 60 primary schools were part of the „Girls’ Day in ICT“ and had the chance to meet successful women entrepreneurs from more than 70 companies.
Belgrade: 11 companies welcomed and hosted young girls (Telenor, Schneider electric, No-Kaci, Eurolog System, Afrodite Mode Collection, Art Ival, Media.com, GoPro, Cisco, Nordeus and Erisson) – and women in managing positions showed to them that it is possible to be a successful women manager in private sector in Serbia, and to stay successful for many years.
Many cities all around Serbia joined the project – cities with partner ABWs and towns where schools and companies wished to give contribution to „Girls’ Day in ICT“: Subotica, Novi Sad, Zrenjanin, Valjevo, Kragujevac, Nis, Vranje, Zajecar, Cacak, Jagodina, Obrenovac, Pozega, Leskovac, Sremska Mitrovica, Paracin.
Unlike other years, this time the project was organized with three layers of activities: (1) Competition for girls „Seize the Idea“ – girls presented their entrepreneurial ideas on „How to earn pocket money in a creative way“. The girls were asked to make a video tutorial having in mind their peer „you tubers“. All ideas that met the criteria were published on ABW Serbia YouTube channel.
Activity No.2 was the Central event – visits to companies. During this activity the girls visited the companies of their choice in all the cities of Serbia that joined the project „Girls’ Day in ICT“.

Speakers at the round table were representatives of Ministry for Youth and Sport, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Commerce, Tourism and Telecommunications as well as project sponsors, women and men entrepreneurs and media representatives.
