"Success flower for the dragon woman 2009"
The Association of Business Women of Serbia brings together women entrepreneurs and women who want to start up their own business, as well as women at top positions in institutions dealing with the support to the SMEs sector. In the course of its nine-year existence the Association has implemented more than 50 projects of economic empowerment of women in Serbia, helping them to improve their existing business or to start up their own business through information giving, acquisition of new knowledge, contacts and networking at the local and regional levels. The Association of Business Women also conducts researches on economic position of women thus contributing to creation of a database on women as an important economic resource.
Besides the current activities, plans of the Association of Business Women are oriented towards strengthening advocacy activities, by means of which successful women owners of sustainable businesses wish to have an active impact and to change their business environment and improve the institutional framework for entrepreneurship development. To this end in 2007 was formed the Association’s section Women’s Business Club. ABW is the first organization that has introduced in 2007 an award for "the best woman entrepreneur" who implements European standards and solves unemployment of women in a creative manner.
The Association of Business Women is the winner of the USAID/OTI’s acknowledgement Certificate of Appreciation.
